SEO Spider Installation

Before You Install

Make sure your computer can run the build you downloaded:

• macOS users should download the macOS build.
• Windows users should download the Windows build.
• Install only from a London Web Factory download page or another source you trust.

The application needs an internet connection to browse websites, crawl websites, fetch product messages, validate registration keys and open external links.

Install on macOS

1. Download the macOS release.
2. Open the downloaded file.
3. Drag LWF SEO Spider into the Applications folder if the release is supplied as a disk image.
4. Open the app from Applications.
5. Review the End User Licence Agreement when it appears.
6. Tick the acceptance box and choose Accept to continue.

If macOS warns that the application was downloaded from the internet, confirm that you downloaded it from London Web Factory before opening it.

Install on Windows

1. Download the Windows release.
2. Open the downloaded installer or application archive.
3. Follow the installer prompts, or extract the application folder if the release is supplied as an archive.
4. Open LWF SEO Spider.
5. Review the End User Licence Agreement when it appears.
6. Tick the acceptance box and choose Accept to continue.

If Windows SmartScreen appears, confirm that the publisher and download source are expected before continuing.

First Launch

On first launch the app shows the current licence agreement. You must accept the agreement to use the application. If you decline it, the app closes.

The app opens to the Browser tab. From there you can search Google, enter a website address, analyse the current page, or start a crawl.

Register Pro

Standard features work without a registration key. A valid registration key unlocks Pro speed modes.

To register:

1. Open the Help menu.
2. Choose Register....
3. Enter your registration key.
4. Choose Register.

When registration succeeds, the product name changes to LWF SEO Spider Pro and the Balanced and Fast crawl speeds become available.

Troubleshooting Installation

If the app does not open:

• check that you downloaded the correct build for your operating system;
• move the app to a normal applications folder rather than running it from a temporary download location;
• make sure security software has not quarantined the application;
• download the release again if the file may be incomplete.

If the licence window appears again after an update, this normally means the licence agreement version has changed and needs to be accepted again.
